Purpose

When automation isn't a viable option, aim to standardize tasks and processes by executing them in the same manner every time. Standardization simplifies your workflow. Team members can carry out their responsibilities confidently, knowing exactly what is expected and how to do it. This reduces reliance on intricate coordination and minimizes the chances of errors or misunderstandings. Consistency in processes also helps with scalability and redundancy. Having standardized procedures in place makes it easier to onboard new team members or have people take over from each other.

Notes

Dependencies are not necessarily bad. Actually, there are many good reasons for people to depend on each other. But you have a problem when those dependencies result in value that is not able to flow.

Rules / Constraints

  • We have not yet defined any rules or constraints.

“We have broken the cycle of dependency. People have found out they're better off working.”
