Purpose

In the dynamic world of product development, collaboration and informed decision-making are paramount. Enter Product Forums (guilds or Communities of Practice). These platforms act as melting pots where professionals converge to brainstorm, share insights, and make critical decisions about product designs and functionalities. Within organizations, different Crews bring varied perspectives. Product Forums facilitate a cross-pollination of these ideas, ensuring a comprehensive approach to product development.

The versatility of Product Forums is truly noteworthy. Tailored to the specific needs of a company, these Forums can cater to discussions on any product type, irrespective of the industry or niche. By tapping into the collective expertise and creativity of various Crews, these Forums empower companies to innovate, refine, and produce products that resonate with the market, ensuring both relevance and excellence.

Notes

You can set up a Product Forum for any kind of product, depending on what your company makes. You may need a Chair for each Forum, but this role does not include people management.

Rules / Constraints

  • The Forum exists only for discussions and decision-making.

  • The Forum participants do most of their work on Crews, not on Forums.

  • Nobody on a Forum is the manager of all Forum members.
