Purpose

In the ever-evolving realm of technology, the need for collaboration and knowledge sharing is more pronounced than ever. For many professionals working in varied teams or Crews, discussing specific tools and technologies becomes indispensable. Enter the Technological Forum, also known as a guild or Community of Practice. These platforms bear a resemblance to Functional Forums, and having one often negates the need for the other. However, in certain contexts, a dedicated technical group offers a more fitting alternative to a functional one.

The strength of a Technological Forum lies in its flexibility. Tailored to the specific needs of an organization or team, these Forums can cater to any spectrum of tools and technologies, be it databases, web development, productivity tools, or the burgeoning field of hybrid working. By pooling expertise and fostering dialogue, Technological Forums ensure teams stay ahead of the curve, leveraging the best tools and methodologies for optimal outcomes.

Notes

You can set up a Technological Forum for any group of tools and technologies, such as databases, web development, productivity tools, hybrid working, and so forth. You may need a Chair for each Forum, but this role does not include people management.

Rules / Constraints

  • The Forum exists only for discussions and decision-making.

  • The Forum participants do most of their work on Crews, not on Forums.

  • Nobody on a Forum is the manager of all Forum members.

β€œIn nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it.”
