Purpose
Fist to Five (also known as Fist of Five) is a dynamic consensus-building and decision-making method. Participants convey their level of support or agreement with a proposal by showing a specific number of fingers. Displaying a closed fist indicates no support or strong disagreement while showing five fingers signifies full support or complete agreement. The fingers in between represent varying degrees of agreement or concern. By visually assessing the collective response, the group can gauge the overall sentiment and level of support for a particular decision. The decision can then be made based on the average score or by addressing concerns and aiming for a higher level of collective agreement.
Notes
This method fosters open communication and encourages collaborative decision-making.
