Flexible
Time Commitment
The team member has a long-term commitment to the Crew or Forum but dedicates a variable amount of time to it, depending on circumstances.
Time Commitments: Fixed • Flexible • Temporary • Intermittent
Purpose
In some contexts, a person contributes with a flexible amount of time per week and for an unlimited period.
Some people see this as not an ideal situation. However, it can be the best option considering the availability of the person or the high variability in the work demand.
Notes
One example of this pattern would be a social media marketer working for different clients. Her availability in one context depends on the fluctuations in demand for her services in other contexts. Another example could be a waiter at a cafe whose business strongly depends on the weather.
Rules / Constraints
This pattern can be combined with other patterns in many ways. We have not yet identified any limiting constraints.
When a person works in multiple contexts, a Flexible time commitment in one context may require also a Flexible time commitment in another.
